52 Lessons for Life
-Napoleon Hill & Judith Williamson
This book is all about helping you in identifying where you stand in your life currently, whether you want to change something in your life, how to achieve something that you want badly etc. I think these 52 valuable lessons provided in this book in worth reading every year again and again. This book is structured in a way where pages in the left side are mostly decorated with most beautiful quotes that can be ever read. It’s like conveying the entire message in few lines.
As the title says, this book contains 52 lessons, which starts by a quote said by Napoleon and ends with a quote said few other renowned persons. Now let’s see what each of these 52 lessons talks about.

Lesson 1 talks about the faults that we make as humans. It focusses on why we should eliminate the weeds in our mind-garden
Lesson 2 throws light on the fact that “What goes around comes around”.
Lesson 3 focusses about the idea that was designed by Napoleon called “Cabinet of Imaginary Counselors” which consist of the people who you admire or get inspired by, something like a virtual board of directors which can walk the same road as you do to help you in some sort of. Read out the full lesion to find out how.
Lesson 4 starts with a beautiful quote where everyone can relate to their current situation,
“If life hands you a lemon, don’t complain, but convert it to lemonade and sell it to those who are thirsty from griping.”
Lesson 5 talks about being grateful for what you already possess and look for the good in all bad situations so that you can be a “Good-Finder.”
Lesson 6 discusses about the way of getting favors and also about the benefits of going the Extra Mile. Author also have mentioned about Cosmic Habit force, Emerson’s Essay on Compensation etc.
Lesson 7 talks about Mastermind Alliance, Negotiation, getting along with others.
Lesson 8 discusses the importance of Laughter and to perceive whatever happens in life as “That’s good” so as to have a PMA (Positive Mental Attitude).
Lesson 9 talks about the “Tolerance”. It also contains a small snippet where the way of how the bouquet of flowers are carried in US and the exact opposite in Japan and the common belief in carrying so is written.
Lesson 10 instructs you to list down all your desires and to take steps to achieve it. It also gives you few advice about how to get rid of negative attitude by doing something positive.
Lesson 11 discusses about the author’s thoughts on “Code of Ethics”. It questions the readers as follows.
“Am I walking my talk?”
Lesson 12 talks about the consequences of “Complaints” and “Compliments”.
Lesson 13 goes by enforcing the power of action by saying “Do it Now.”

For the remaining lessons, you can buy the book and read it by yourself  J
One of the best thing which I like about this book is, wherever possible, author talks about “Action”. Because most of us have dreams, few have plan to achieve their dreams but very few actually act on their plan. Reading this again and again will give you all the push up that you need to act on your plan.
On the whole, this book gives you most important “52 lessons” to have a potential successful life.
Some of the best quotes used in this book for you:-
“Do it now… and before anyone tells you to do it!”
“What the mind can conceive and believe the mind can achieve”.
“Your imagination will become week through inaction. It can be revived and made alert through use”.
“Nor I- nor anyone else, can travel that road for you. You must travel it yourself”.
“Start by doing what’s necessary, then what’s possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible”

That’s it for today. Have a happy reading!!
